Wade Cross

President, Partner

Wade Cross came to financial advisory by way of two careers that had nothing to do with it - and everything to do with it.

Wade is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a degree in Engineering Management. He served five years as a commissioned Army officer, rising to the rank of Captain. His roles included Scout Platoon Leader, Tank Platoon Leader, and Brigade Training Officer. He earned multiple Army commendations and holds Parachutist and Air Assault qualifications. The systematic, mission-focused approach to planning and decision-making that defined his military service continues to shape how he works with clients today.

After the Army, Wade spent several years in medical device sales and marketing - working across Fortune 500 companies, mid-size firms, and start-ups, and ultimately serving as an Area Sales Director managing six states. That career included direct engagement with the health insurance system as a patient advocate, giving him a perspective on coverage and benefits that most financial advisors don't have. He went on to serve as Director of Group Health Benefits at West Texas Insurance Exchange before co-founding Intuitive Wealth.

Wade holds an MBA from East Texas A&M University and carries Series 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses, along with Life & Health and Property & Casualty insurance licenses. He is a credentialed Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA) and holds a Certification in Blockchain & Digital Assets.

His approach to this work is grounded in a simple belief: Having money means having the flexibility, optionality, and nimbleness to choose your own path rather than an singular path forward. Money decisions are rarely just about money. They affect families, employees, businesses, and future generations. Wade works to give clients a complete picture of their options - the trade-offs, the timing, the implications - so they can make decisions from a position of clarity rather than uncertainty.

Wade volunteers with the United States Military Academy Admissions Field Force, supporting qualified candidates from Texas' 19th Congressional District through the West Point application process. He is involved in veteran-related causes and fundraising throughout the community and is a member of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and First Christian Church of Lubbock.

He and his wife Michelle - a Texas Tech graduate and former securities advisor - have three children: son Connor, studying business at UT Austin's McCombs School of Business, and twin daughters Finley and Emersyn, both high schoolers in Lubbock. Outside of work, Wade's interests include guitars and firearms enthusiast.

Preston Tharp

Chief Investment Officer, Partner

Preston Tharp's path to financial advisory ran directly through one of the most respected programs in the field.

Preston is a proud graduate of Texas Tech University's Personal Financial Planning program, earning a Bachelor of Human Sciences from a nationally recognized department that trains advisors in the full breadth of financial planning - investments, insurance, retirement, estate, and tax considerations. That foundation shapes how he approaches every client relationship: comprehensively, analytically, and with a focus on building strategies that account for the full picture rather than isolated pieces of it.

As Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Intuitive Wealth, Preston leads the firm's research, portfolio construction, and investment analysis. He holds Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and is Life and Health insurance licensed. His technical work goes beyond traditional asset classes - Preston follows macroeconomic trends closely and maintains a working knowledge of emerging sectors, to include artificial intelligence (AI) and digital assets. This is reflected in his ongoing research into the technologies and global forces shaping the next generation of investment landscapes.

What distinguishes Preston's approach is his focus on making the complex accessible. Institutional-level strategy and sophisticated portfolio analysis are only useful if a client understands them well enough to act with confidence. Preston works to distill high-level thinking into clear, actionable plans. He presents options in plain terms so clients can make decisions grounded in understanding rather than assumption.

His interest in this work is personal as well as professional. Preston is drawn to the moments when clients who have spent decades building something significant - a business, a career, a family's financial foundation - are ready to move into a new chapter. Helping families navigate that transition with clarity is work he finds genuinely meaningful.

Preston lives in Lubbock with his wife Siairra and their three sons. He is active in the West Texas business community and involved in youth sports, where he coaches his children. Outside of work and family, Preston's interests include cooking, grilling, and hosting - and he brings the same attention to detail to a meal with friends as he does to a client's portfolio review.

Terry Haltom

Group Benefits Account Manager

Terry Haltom has spent more than 30 years doing one thing - and doing it exceptionally well.

Terry's entire career has been dedicated to group health benefits account management. Before joining Intuitive Wealth, she spent three decades at West Texas Insurance Exchange, building the kind of deep, practical expertise that only comes from years of working through real problems for real clients. She has held a Life and Health insurance license for more than 30 years and brings a level of institutional knowledge to this work that is nearly impossible to replicate.

As Group Benefits Account Manager at Intuitive Wealth, Terry serves as the primary day-to-day contact for the firm's employer group health clients - working directly with HR managers, office managers, and business owners to handle the full range of account service needs. That includes coordinating employee enrollments, managing qualifying life events, navigating open enrollment, resolving billing and eligibility issues, and ensuring that carrier paperwork is submitted accurately and on time. When a problem arises for an employer or an employee, Terry is the person who works it through to resolution.

Her approach to the work is straightforward: be responsive, be thorough, and don't stop until the issue is closed. In an area of commercial services where details matter enormously and delays can have real consequences for employees and their families, Terry's commitment to follow-through is a meaningful part of how Intuitive Wealth serves its group health clients.

Terry is also well-versed in the privacy and compliance requirements that come with managing benefits data, including HIPAA and PHI handling - an area where precision and discretion are non-negotiable.

Terry's connection to West Texas runs deep. She is the proud grandmother of two grandsons and stays closely connected to her daughter in Midland and her son in the Dallas area. She is an enthusiastic college sports fan - cheering for both the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Texas Longhorns, depending on the matchup - and attends church every Sunday.
